Innovate or Else
Innovation Culture Group’s products and services are based on proven concepts and practices. We draw heavily on the behavioral sciences, particularly the enduring principles that guide effective leaders. Ultimately, however, we’re pragmatists. We focus on what works. That’s why our products and services reflect the best practices of some of the most successful and innovative organizations throughout the world, especially firms we have assisted.
We believe that leading for innovation requires three distinct and equally important skill sets – technical, managerial and leadership. The technical set involves the nuts and bolts of the business or any of its functions. The managerial set involves the segmented, analytical and rational processes that are responsible for good planning, organizing and controlling. The leadership set consists of the conceptual, creative and feeling processes that make for visionary, caring and inspiring leaders.
Innovation Culture Group can certainly help your people become more competent technicians and managers. But we prefer to focus on leadership and culture which play far more important roles in fostering innovation. We pay particular attention to managers who have technical, engineering, finance, accounting and information systems backgrounds. Innovation is just as critical in those areas as any others, yet these managers’ proclivity for analytical and rational activities means that they have a lot to learn about inspiring commitment and creativity, the key components of an innovation and performance culture.
